Another Pair of Duffers

It’s been a busy week, selling patterns (yes, that’s right selling) and knitting up a couple of commissions, I finally managed to finish Mr T’s Duffers. These ones in Rowan’s Felted Tweed Chunky. No photos after they went in the machine as they’re keeping the Mister warm and toasty in this freezing weather and he refuses to model! This is still one of my favourite patterns – you can buy an updated copy on Ravelry and the revisions are fab – including a version to knit in the round.

I also found time to drop by Lynne’s Blog and discovered the cute little baby booties on the new issue of Let’s Get Crafting are one of her designs. I’m casting on this weekend as I have the perfect recipient in mind.

A Pair of Duffers

I’ve been intrigued by thisĀ  link on Mousy Brown’s blog for a while, I’m not a big felter, but I do love a pair of comfy slippers and I had wondered “Has Mousy Brown made a pair? What did she think”?

Well, I don’t need to wonder any more, because not only did she post a pair she had made on her blog, I finally gave into temptation and this morning I made my own. Literally, in a morning.

Duffers, before felting at 40 degrees, no spin

I used three balls of Drops Eskimo pure wool which I bought yesterday while I was in town with Debbie and Caroline. I printed off the pattern from Ravelry at 9am and by 4pm I was wearing them! (OK, so they aren’t quite dry yet, but I’m working on the principle they’ll be moulded to my shape!

Thank you so much for reminding about this great pattern Mousy Brown, I hope your slippers are as comfy as they are beautiful.

I’m tempted to say, let’s all have a felt along, get your pattern, find 300m of wool in your stash and make a pair. Shall we?
