Mr T and I found a couple of Catherine Wheels lurking in the back of the shed at the weekend, as I watched the colours spinning around I was reminded of a rather vibrant pink yarn sitting in my work basket. This star garland was the result, curled up by the fire playing with yarn with no particular outcome in mind I quickly found I had enough little stars to make a garland. Add in a few felt balls and some ribbon and “Ta Dah”, a totally useless, but rather fun gift for a friend. I used the star motif pattern I wrote for Crochet Gifts for Christmas (which is on sale now).
If you have a back copy of Craftseller issue 13, you could use the star hairclip motif (or even the Sheriff badge from issue 16).
I am already planning a version in more “me” colours this Christmas, as they take so little yarn and are so quick to make I could string them across the living room?
One simple motif, a dozen different uses, what would you make with it I wonder….
