Is it really Friday already? This week has just flown by, plenty of time in the green house and a fair bit of paperwork to deal with and a rather exciting commission have kept me busy.
Finally here she is, my lovely needle felted doll inspired by the feature in Homemade with Love magazine. She was great fun, lots of lessons learnt in the process. Next time I shall make a larger one first – those faces are fiddly – thank goodness I remembered a tip to needle felt the face flat then felt it on to the doll!
I’m rather pleased with her and she’s sitting in pride of place with my little Russian dolls. One day she will have a needle felted family all of her own, but that will have to wait.
I’ve really enjoyed this issue of Homemade with Love, and I’m rather excited to tell you that the next few issues are going to be absolutely fabulous …
For now my lips are sealed!

/ April 5, 2013She’s lovely! So colourful and soft!
Smaller projects require less stabbing overall but are so much more fiddly!
Good tip too about felting in stages. (The first time I tried a 3d figure I just stabbed away at a huge handful of a fibre clump for ages without layering or separating it first – I stabbed myself a few times in the process!)
Hope to see more of your needlefelted doll family!
OOh and a bit of a mystery to keep us all guessing!
