We’re just back from spending Easter weekend up in Cumbria, where the hills are covered in snow. While the menfolk risked life and limb on an epic bike ride, the ladies lit the fire, relaxed with pots of tea and a big pile of homes and interiors magazines (I like to think of it as research for my accessories and homewares designs).
One of my long time favourite magazines has recently launched a Crochet Club, hoping to raise money for Mencap by selling blankets and throws made from granny squares. Back home to internet access I found the details on the Country Homes and Interiors blog. I shall definitely be roping in my crochet pupils to contribute and I have a big pile of grannies here already in need of a home, so they shall be posted off too. The lovely people at Rowan have joined forces to help, which is fab as I am such a fan of their yarns and designers. There are details here of Rowan’s Guide to Crochet and granny square patterns.
It has been lovely to see magazines like House Beautiful, Country Living etc embrace the trend for homecrafts, but Country Homes and Interiors have taken it one step further and I’m thrilled to see how many knitting and crochet bloggers have offered support. Well done to the editorial team and hurrah for crochet!
PS You can take a peek inside the current issue of Country Homes and Interiors here, but even better, pick up a copy at your local newsagent.
