I must admit, when I first suggested to Emma that we should co host a holiday swap it was for entirely selfish reasons. I love getting “real” mail and parcels in the post and what could be nicer than receiving something hand made by another crafter? We have had a lovely mix of readers from both our blogs taking part, some have blogs of their own and others don’t so we’ll be putting some pics up on flickr soon to show off all the wonderful items that have been traveling up and down the country thanks to Royal Mail. My parcel has gone to Spain, so until I’m sure the recipient won’t be peeking I am only giving you a brief glimpse of what went in my parcel.
You can take a peek at what Ali, Heike, Dawn and Emma have been sending and receiving on their blogs – I am amazed at their creativity and ingenuity – it’s always a surprise to me just what you can get in an A4 envelope!
This has been the most exciting project and I hope we can make it an annual event. Thank you to every one who has taken part, it can be a bit daunting to swap parcels with someone you’ve never met and so much is taken on trust. I am sure everyone has been thrilled with their parcels and that we all feel more festive as a result of putting our parcels together.
Finally I have to say a huge thank you to Emma, not only was she enthusiastic about the idea of co hosting the swap, she has been a constant source of inspiration and support to me and my year has been the better for getting to know her.
Sssshhh …. don’t tell anyone …. she has a rather significant birthday approaching and I’ll be sending off something rather special to help her celebrate in style!
Happy making

/ December 6, 2011“Proper” mail is great isn’t it? Handwritten envelopes are such a rare sight in our house we fair pounce on them! Such pretty gifts, too – what a brilliant idea!
