You might be forgiven for thinking that with so many knit and crochet posts recently, the garden has been a bit neglected. Not so, almost every time there’s a break in the rain I’ve been out, planting for autumn, tidying the beds and harvesting fruit and veg.
Yesterday I promised myself an hour outside and when blue skies finally broke through, out went the washing, on went the wellies and I weeded, raked and picked the very last tomatoes -not a single green tomato this year – that has never happened to me before!
And (here’s an admission) I accidentally left my reading glasses on, which meant I spotted these …
lesson learnt? Sometimes it’s good to stand still and just look, finding the beauty in small things.

/ September 21, 2011I love the tiny ruffled feather! It is good sometimes to just slow down and appreciate what is around us, instead of always rushing to get things done. I think we sometimes put too much pressure on ourselves, which means we don’t get the enjoyment that we should while doing things.

/ September 21, 2011Thanks Anne – makes me realise how much I miss by being too vain to wear my glasses!
