Resources

There are more websites, blogs and stories being told on the web than one person can ever hope to find alone. If you are  just dipping a toe into social media you may interested in the blogs I’m currently  reading, take a look at my Pageflakes page then explore the web. What’s Pageflakes? It’s free web based RSS reader which collects all the latest news and updates from blogs with an RSS feed (don’t ask me anything technical. Like the internal combustion engine, I know it makes my life easier but I don’t pretend to understand how it works). You could also take a look at Amy Sample Ward’s feed reader, which uses Netvibes. Being able to share useful resources and swap ideas is one of the benefits of the “social web”. If you have a good idea, why keep it to yourself? let me know if you have found a blog or resource you think I’d like to read by leaving a comment here.

Another resource I still find useful and really helped me get started in Social Media are the One Page Guides, written by Tim Davies, these include using google groups, twitter, RSS feeds and more. Check them out for yourself, I still find them invaluable.

New publication “A Renewable World, Energy, Equality, Ecology” can be downloaded free here.

A Renewable World was developed in conjunction with dozens of world experts and features solutions on renewable energy, biosequestration, energy sufficiency, energy for developing countries, green collar jobs, cities, transport, agriculture and food, regional economies, and civil participation and democracy. It seeks to clarify what can be done, and how we can all benefit, long into the future. (My contribution is on p199)
