Why don&#039;t they give people some money upfront, maybe to be repaid with no interests in 12 years? This would give a much more effective stimulus then saying: &quot;OK, you pay and then we&#039;ll give you the money back in 12 years with no interests&quot;.</description>

		<description>I agree - but until I can afford loan repayments or there is an adequate scheme to support low income households, renewables will always remain beyond my reach - no matter how much I want them.</description>

		<description>I believe that any scheme that encourages the use of renewable energy should be encouraged. Whilst initial costs seem high, the overall benefits and cost-saving as a result make them worthwhile in my opinion.</description>

Here the problem is that most of the schemes launched by the government to reduce the carbon footprint are accessible by those who already have the money to do something. 
This is the real challenge, as I&#039;ve pointed out in my blog. If they want ordinary people to make a difference, they should promote ways to climb the &quot;renewables ladder&quot; starting from nothing.</description>
